Heidi Montag Admits Addiction to Plastic Surgery
In a new issue of People, “The Hills” star Heidi Montag admits that she’s addicted to plastic surgery, saying Hollywood pressures drove her to undergo head-to-toe procedures and that she’s planning more.
"I’m beyond obsessed," Heidi said of her fixation on becoming what she calls "the best me." It all began in 2007 with a nose job and breast augmentation, but on November 20, she underwent an estimated $30,000 worth of augmentations and modifications in a single day. In all, she spent 10 hours under the knife of LA plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan.
That day, among other things, Montag had her ears pinned back; her buttocks augmented; her chin reduced; her brow lifted; liposuction in her neck, waist, and thighs; and fat injected into her cheeks and lips.
"My ultimate dream is to be a pop star. I’m competing against the Britney Spearses of the world—and when she was in her prime, it was her sex appeal that sold," she said. "Obviously, looks matter; it’s a superficial industry."
Fellow "Hills" personality Audrina Patridge weighed in on her costar’s decision to have more work done. "I think it’s a case of ‘To each their own,’ but 10 procedures in one day is a little much," Audrina said, adding: "As long as Heidi is happy, that’s all that matters."
Despite her confession that her body now feels "a little fragile" as she recovers, Montag is already plotting to increase her bust from her current cup size of DDD. But she says all the work is not for the sake of pleasing her husband, fellow “Hills” star Spencer Pratt.
"Honestly, the way I got Spencer, I had no surgery. It was my inner beauty that he loved."
