“The Hills” Star to Enter Alcohol Rehab
Despite raising concern for sister-in-law Holly Montag’s penchant for alcohol on a recent episode of MTV’s reality show "The Hills," it appears Stephanie Pratt is the reality star that needs the help.
"The Hills" star pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor DUI Friday in a Los Angeles court and will enroll in a 30-day residential rehab facility, People.com reports.
Cristina Everett of the New York Daily News writes that Pratt, 23, was arrested last month after driving herself home from Montag’s birthday party at a Hollywood club.
According to E! News, Pratt’s lawyer, Jon Bryant Artz, argued the reason the reality star was pulled over was for her tinted windows and suggested she failed her field sobriety test because she was having a difficulty driving in 4-inch-heeled boots.
"There’s no impaired driving or driving that indicates she was under the influence," Artz added.
Unfortunately for Pratt, prosecutors didn’t fall for the stiletto theory.
Pratt reportedly took two breath tests, one of which registered a blood-alcohol level of .09, just above the state’s legal limit of .08.
"She’s trying one day at a time to do the right thing in respects to her life and facing whatever issues she may have," Artz said. "She’s taking this case very seriously, and she’s taking the issue of alcohol very seriously."
If convicted, Pratt faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
